Championnats de Belgique de relais 4x200m : record du club scolaires

Avec un chrono de 1:49.20, notre jeune équipe dames termine 16ème (4ème francophone) de ces championnats toutes catégories

Depuis quelques années, les championnats de Belgique de relais 4x200m toutes catégories sont organisés dans le cadre de l'International Flanders Athletic Meeting (IFAM). L'édition 2017 a eu lieu ce samedi 11 février au Topsporthal Vlaanderen de Gand.

Notre équipe dames a obtenu sa place grâce à ses bonnes performances depuis un an : 1:51.67 l'an dernier lors de ces mêmes championnats, 1:48.75 en août lors des championnats LBFA de relais outdoor et récemment 1:51.18 lors des championnats LBFA indoor. Ces bons chronos la placent 23ème des 30 équipes sélectionnées (15ème sur base des chronos outdoor). L'équipe est pourtant très jeune : les performances 2016 sont l'oeuvre de quatre cadettes : Amandine Sampson - Cassandre Evans - Sarah Delcommune - Amélie Gathot. Depuis le début de saison, Vicky Joye ne cesse d'améliorer son record personnel sur la distance et vient s'ajouter à la liste : l'équipe alignée samedi était donc composée de Cassandre (SCO) - Vicky (CAD) - Amandine (SCO) - Sarah (CAD).

Après la participation de Cassandre et Vicky, ainsi que de Léa Delcommune, au programme individuel de l'IFAM, les filles se retrouvent au départ de la 2ème série, en compagnie de 5 clubs néerlandophones. Cassandre lance l'équipe sur de bons rails et passe le témoin à Vicky en 3ème position derrière les clubs de AVMO et LYRA. Riet Vanfleteren (LEBB), une athlète du top 10 belge sur 400m, dépose logiquement Vicky dans la ligne droite opposée qui résiste à la remontée des 2 autres clubs... Mais les 2 relayeuses suivantes enferment Amandine après le passage de témoin, elle doit patienter jusqu'au 2ème virage pour revenir à leur hauteur et même en dépasser une, plaçant Sarah en 5ème position pour le dernier tour. Reprendre la 4ème place n'est qu'une formalité pour elle, mais il reste 15m de retard à combler pour rattraper le LYRA : Sarah ne se laisse pas impressionner et sort une magnifique course pour finir par coiffer son adversaire sur la ligne et terminer en 1:49.20, nouveau record du club scolaires, à 5 centièmes seulement du record du club toutes catégories (2004).
